Josh began journeying with Wellink in March of 2004.
The best thing that Wellink provided was a perspective of recovery and a shattering of stigma and discrimination that nestles so effortlessly through the community. He entered the warm and empowering space at Wellington Central, which is a space that supports young people taking back their life to dive back into the community with confidence.
Josh studied two degrees down in Otago previously (BSC, BA) in Psychology and Maori Studies, both which have become strong passions. He has had experience in providing supervision to staff, training in youth work and system development.Josh has been part of working with the Kaihautu around working with Maori and participates in the Wellink Youth Peer Committee. Josh worked alongside Jennifer Shelton on the Wellink song which can be found on the Wellink promotional DVD.
Ever interested in the human experience, Josh is excited about where the mental health community is heading and thinks that one of the most rewarding experiences is being able to share the moment when a person becomes empowered to drive their own lives.
He waka eke noa
A canoe which we are all in with no exception.
